Tips - Testing a bit with its number in a variable
Here are some tips:

if 4 in PORTA then ... // Equivalent to if PORTA.4 then ...

Also, it may be extended to any variable:

if BitNum in PORTA then ... // Equivalent to if ((1 SHL BitNum) AND PORTA) <> 0 then ...
